Corruption is an abuse of entrusted public resources, position or power for private gain. Corruption may include various forms like bribery, embezzlement, theft, fraud, graft, extortion, blackmail, influence peddling, abuse of discretion, favouritism etc. Corruption can be classified as grand, petty, political, depending upon the amounts of money lost and the sector where it occurs. Corruption undermines peoples trust in political and economic institutions, undermines rule of law and depletes national wealth.
