Cadbury Report | Definition | What is Cadbury Report?

The Cadbury Report is a report of “The Committee of Financial Aspects of Corporate Governance” led by Sir Adrian Cadbury published in 1992. Cadbury report seeks to address various issue in corporate governance that were prevalent during that time. The report made various recommendations to address the shortcomings in company management like concentration of power at top, apathy toward interest of other stakeholders, excessively high compensation to top management, lack of independence for auditors etc.

Sir Adrian Cadbury noted that Corporate Governance is concerned with holding the balance between economic and social goals and between individual and communal goals. According to him aim of corporate governance is to align as nearly as possible the interests of individuals, corporations and society.
